Balcony Whispers is a meditative movement performance and photographic installation exploring solitude, intimacy, and fragile architectures of shelter. Presented at the London Design Festival in the historic Peckham Rye Old Waiting Room, the work unfolded in two forms: an experimental exhibition and a live performance.
The exhibition employed a folding screen as both medium and metaphor, with hand-printed photographs arranged on textured papers to suggest memory, vulnerability, and domestic intimacy. A hand-crafted photobook invited personal engagement. In parallel, a durational performance activated the installation through slow, meditative movement—leaning, pressing, and unfolding against the balcony frame, creating a quiet choreography of breath and presence at the threshold between inside and outside.
